Mychailo Fulmes, M.D., Ph.D.
Mychailo Fulmes is a concerned and attentive surgeon specializing in colorectal surgery caring for Metropolitan New York area. Dr. Fulmes earned his medical degree from the DanyloHalytskyLviv National Medical University in Ukraine. He was practicing colorectal surgery after medical university. Then, he moved to the United States and completed his residency in general surgery at one of the Cleveland Clinic hospitals. He then completed additional training to become a qualified colorectal surgeon here in the U.S. During fellowships, he was trained at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York-Presbyterian, Weill Cornell hospital in New York and Lehigh Valley hospital in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Fulmes runs his own practice and is board certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He is a member of the International Society of University Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the American Society Colon and Rectal Surgery. Patients trust Dr. Fulmes’s expertise because he consistently provides high quality care that leads to positive and lasting health outcomes. Dr. Fulmes developed unique technique for treatment of severe anal pain and anal fissure in the office even on the initial visit. No surgery, no sphincterotomy (partial sphincter division). Excellent results close to 100%. Pain relief on day one after procedure. He is a patent developer for postoperative wound infection prevention.
